We will start your private tour at Bucharest. You will be picked up from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. Our first stop will be at Curtea de Arges Monastery. After that, we will go at Poienari Village, where the ruins of Vlad the Impaler’s Castle are. After visiting, we will go at Vidraru, where we will have also a lunch break at a traditional cuisine restaurant. Later, we will return to Bucharest late evening. At each site, we will spend enough time to visit also the surroundings. Your guide will tell you how much time is recommended to spend but the final decision will be yours. The Curtea de Arges Monastery may be the only monastery in Romania, which is more about the legends than religion. The legend of the pregnant woman trapped inside the walls and the death of master Manole who tried to fly with wooden wings are probably the most known legends about this monastery. Find out the other legends about this place and the tombs of the greatest kings of Romania, inside the monastery, such as Carol I, the founder of Sinaia Castle. Explore the Ruins of Poienari Citadel, otherwise known as the ruins of Vlad the Impaler’s Citadel. Vlad the Impaler was the medieval Romanian ruler whose image is associated with Count Dracula. Be aware, as from the bottom of the hill to up where the ruins are, you have to step more than 1,000 medieval stairs. It is not hard, it just takes 30 minutes for all of them. Admire the Vidraru Dam, situated in one of the most beautiful and wild areas of Carpathian Mountains. It is the highest one in Romania and one of the highest in Europe! Your adventure awaits!
