The archaeological museum of Naples preserves most of the extraordinary masterworks of art discovered in Pompeii, Herculaneum, Stabiae, Oplontis, ralated villas, and also the most beautiful statues collected in Rome during the 16th century by the cardinals of the family Farnese. Today we can state that the National Archaeological Museum of Naples displays the world most beautiful roman art collection. We will visit first the Gallery containing the collection Farnese where are preserved the famous statues of Hercules at rest, the two Tyrannicide, the majestic group called Toro Farnese, the statues of Gods and the busts of the Emperors. Then we will go to the Pompeian collection where are shown all the most beautiful frescos, mosaics such as the one of « Alexander the Great », a number of silver and golden objects, and incredibly preserved every day life objects.
