This tour gives you another view of the third biggest capital of Brazil. It takes you to the Itapagipe Peninsula, surrounded by the calm waters of the bay and a part of the city where life goes on a slower rythm. In the Ribeira neighbourhood you can see fishermen with their small canoes, small marinas with schooners and sailboats at anchor and, at low tide, locals that collect shellfish. The whole Peninsula is dominated by a small hill where the famous Bonfim church was build. It’s the most visited church of Salvador and an important place for pilgrimage where you can also see the syncretism between Catholicism and Candomblé. After this we go to the Boa Viagem neighbourhood with a stop at the very old church of Montserrat from where you have a fantastic panoramic view on the city. Finally, you can visit the market of São Joaquim, the swarming and biggest open market of the city or, if you prefer, the Mercado Modelo, the famous tourist market for local artifacts and souvenirs.
