It is a half-day tour including the most important places of interest in Milan. It can be done entirely on foot with small groups (up to 15 participants), or by bus (panoramic trip + transfers from one place to another) and on foot in the historic centre area, for groups up to 40 participants. This tour includes visits to the places – symbols of the city: starting from the impressive Sforzesco Castle, residence of two of the most important dynasties – Visconti and Sforza – rulers of the city, where also the famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci has lived and worked, the walking tour proceeds by the central and beautiful historic Dante street and the medieval Piazza Mercanti, towards the biggest and most beautiful Gothic cathedral in Italy – Duomo di Milano, made entirely of white marble. Its building took 5 centuries, starting in 1386, and represents an authentic masterpiece of the international Gothic style architecture. Many famous architects, sculptors and glass painters from all over Europe have worked on its completion. After the visit of Duomo Cathedral, the tour proceeds to the first and biggest (and also most beautiful) Arcade covered street in Italy, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, built between 1865 and 1877. It connects Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Scala and is often nicknamed « il salotto di Milano » (Milan’s drawing room), due to its luxury restaurants and cafés, boutique shops, etc., making it a common Milanese meeting and dining place. Last stop of the tour is Piazza della Scala, where a monument of Leonardo and his followers stands in the centre. Two very important buildings can be seen from here – Palazzo Marino, which is the City Hall of Milan, and the World famous Opera Theatre Teatro alla Scala opposite to it. Besides all that, the bus panoramic tour includes also a glimpse and information about other symbolic places of Milan, that can be seen on the rout, like Piazza Cadorna, Sant’Ambrogio church, The two historic universities of Milan – La Cattolica and La Statale, San Lorenzo church, il Verziere and Palazzo Sormani.
