During our comprehensive full day tour of Belgrade, we will visit the highlights of Belgrade, and you will have a chance to visit the different neighbourhoods and see the most interesting sites of this truly cosmopolitan town. Among them, New Belgrade, the modern business and financial centre built after World War II. We will drive across the new Ada Bridge to the peaceful Topcider Park and Dedinje Hill with its luxurious villas. We will have a pleasant walk through Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress from where you can take in spectacular views of the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. During the drive through King Alexander Street, the longest street in the town you will see the University of Belgrade, government buildings, ministries, the Town Hall and Serbian Parliament. At Vracar, a high-class upmarket area, we will enter the Temple of Saint Sava, the second largest Orthodox Temple in the world. In the afternoon we will leave the hilly Balkan Peninsula and cross one of six bridges spanning the River Sava to enter the flat Pannonia. Zemun, although part of Belgrade for more than a hundred years, was historically a former Austro-Hungarian border town. We will go to the top of Gardos Hill and reach the Millennium Tower from where we can enjoy splendid views of Belgrade. Then we will descend the steps to stroll through narrow streets and see the market and houses of notable Zemun families, some of them still living in their historical palaces. Then we might visit the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas with its famous iconostasis and 72 icons and the Church of the Virgin. At one of the squares, we will see the Catholic Church and continue to the Franciscan Monastery, founded here in the Middle Ages. In the Town Park, which once marked the border between the Habsburg and Ottoman empires, you will see two small charming Orthodox and Catholic chapels, built especially for travellers. Finally, we will stroll through the main street and promenade along the Danube River.
