Hiking Beautiful Merapi Volcano

Let us for a moment take a break from the city lives of Jogja and set our adventurous foot to taste the beautiful sunrise and fresh atmosphere of Merapi volcano (2968 meters above sea level) accompanied by the majestic peaks of the mountains around. This Journey will be guided by my husband and our journey will begin at midnight from Selo Village (1560 metres) which is the basecamp to hike Merapi Volcano. And with standard speed after 5 hours of hiking we will reach the Pasar Bubrah which is a wide area of volcanic sand and rock right under the Peak of Merapi. At the Pasar Bubrah we can see the hypnotize sunrise with some stunning scenery. After enjoying the sunrise then we will continue the journey down to basecamp for 3 hour trip. Prepare and check all the equipment needed 09.00 pm – Start from Jogja to go to Merapi Basecamp (Selo Village) 11.00 pm – Arrive at Selo Village, get registered at the Basecamp and prepare for hiking 12.00 am – Start hiking to Merapi Peak 05.00 – Arrive at Merapi Peak, waiting the sunrise and enjoy the amazing view 07.00 am – Start to climb down to basecamp 10.00 am – Arrive at basecamp and go back to Jogja 12.00 pm – Arrive at hotel
